LONDONERS BETRAYED: STATEMENT FROM THE EARL’S COURT AREA ACTION GROUP

It was hoped, after the local elections in May, when Labour dramatically overturned the Conservative Majority in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, that transparency and integrity would be the new norm—instead of which, we appear to face more of the same.

Small self-interested cabals, lack of engagement with residents and now a case of the Leadership delegating an important key decision, a decision with significant impact on residents' lives, health and wellbeing, to officers at the last minute: this is shameful. Local residents and community groups have been denied the opportunity to exercise their right to present their views at a scheduled Public Meeting. This promised meeting evaporated without notice and the decision was made behind closed doors.

This does not inspire confidence that Hammersmith and Fulham is in a safe set of hands. Shuffling meetings where opinions are going to be voiced and excluding residents’ views is not democratic and not what people voted for. Democracy and Londoners are the ultimate losers.

This shabby and insulting indifference to local residents will not deter the Earl’s Court Area Action Group in its fight to Save Earl’s Court, the West Kensington and Gibbs Green Estates and the Lillie Bridge Depot.

I have written a five page letter to Ed Milliband about how Labour politicians have betrayed the people who live at Earls Court, and how bad that looks on his party. I have asked him how can anyone trust his party if they don't keep their promises. If he wants to win the election in May he should stop the demolition of the exhibition centres, and give people a reason to trust Labour again. He has the authority to do this and I'm hoping for a positive reply. I suggest others do the same until he takes notice.

If Labour demolish the exhibition centres, it means they've broken their promise and betrayed the people who voted for them. If Ed Milliband took action and put a stop to this happening, we would all have a good reason to trust the Labour Party again. I suggest people write to him and point out to him the fact that it could mean he might lose a lot of important votes from people in this area, and that could mean that Labour might not win the next election, something that he's hoping to win. I suggest people get writing to him because bad publicity is not what he wants leading up to the next general election. Never give up hope, it was stopped before when it seemed too late and it can still be stopped again.

Afraid us Londoner's can no longer trust Labour.

Labour has turned its back on the workers of London - Earls Court, as well as Aylesbury Estate (fighting demolition) & Heygate Estates (now demolished) - they voted Labour back in to stop demolition of their homes - and look whats happened:

In London Labour run councils are the most aggressive users of the 'regeneration' 3 part con trick - for 'mixed communities'

Demolishing Council owned estates/homes. The sites are cheaply handed over to developers (and Housing Un trusts - as they've become!). When re built previous tenants can not afford the 'affordable' rents (20% discount off market rates!)

Most of the properties built (on EX COUNCIL ESTATES) being private, part rent/buy and a minute affordable. WHAT COUNCIL HOUSING LOST ON THESE SITES - IS NEVER REPLACED

Ultimatley Labour (all over London) are deliberatley engineering a change of local demographic. This IS social cleansing - no matter how they try and spin: we want more mixed communities tosh!

Labour run communities under attack of having their homes stolen for developers profits: Lambeth, Tottenham (its a social cleansing massacer here), Southwark, Brent, Hackney, Greenwich, Newham and the list goes on!

All these boroughs need to gang up on Milliband NOW - and make him aware if these regeneration schemes against our communities are not stopped immediatley - WE WILL NOT BE VOTING FOR LABOUR

60 Days (before election time) to hook up and get organised
